Deciding on a Business Phone System: What’s right for your organization?

Sep262022
ConnectivityUCaaSWhich Business Phone System Is Right for Your Organization?

Choosing a new business phone system may sound intimidating, whether you are starting a new company or want to replace your old PBX, it is a decision that you should not take lightly.

When it comes to business phone systems, you have plenty of options with different advantages and disadvantages, it depends on what type of organization you are running and what your specific needs are. The following guide will help you choose the right one for your business phone system needs. Read on for more details.

Virtual phone systems

A Virtual phone system allows you to make and receive incoming and outgoing calls without a landline or local phone service. Through softphone apps, a virtual phone system can be set up for business calls on all types of internet-connected devices such as desktops, laptops, tablets, and mobile phones. The main advantage of this alternative is that they cost significantly less than traditional hardware solutions.

Old-legacy landline PBX systems

Analog phone systems are traditional landlines installed by the local or regional phone company, connected to public switched telephone networks (PSTN) that run via copper wiring. Therefore, to enable business functionality, you might need extra telecom hardware, consequently, this option is the least modern, flexible, and cost-effective one.

Voice over Internet Protocol (VoIP) phone systems

These types of phone systems run on the same network as your company instead of copper wires traditional installations. VoIP systems allow companies, no matter their size, to enjoy enterprise features such as auto attendants, call queues, and a work from home environment. Best for small businesses that are looking for a portable and low-cost alternative.

Cloud-based phone systems

For many businesses having a complete IT staff to maintain their VoIP system is not convenient, if that is your case, you should consider getting a cloud-based phone system instead. This alternative is provided by a third party, who will be responsible for housing, upgrading, and maintaining the technology associated with your phone service. Another advantage of this technology is that it is highly flexible and scalable, it allows you to upgrade features and add new lines to meet changing business requirements.

Therefore, you will have full control of your costs by paying on a per-user or monthly basis.

Choosing a business phone system doesn’t need to be complicated. Let us help you find the right solution to suit your needs so you can free up time for what matters most – running your company!
