Many companies have prioritized modernizing their communication systems due to new ways of work. Today we will talk about a successful migration project from an on-premises PBX to Microsoft Teams of an Aviation and Aerospace Component Manufacturing company.
Like many other organizations, Accurus found themselves stuck with an old telephone system which no longer met their business requirements and was slowing down the growth of their business. They had previously been using Skype for Business for collaboration and Cox Communications as their PBX telephony provider. Updating phone lines was a priority for this year’s investment, therefore, they decided to make a change to modernize their legacy phone system helping to unify processes, as well as support business continuity.
Their biggest obstacle to deploying new technology, such as VoIP, was that due to the pandemic brought on by Covid-19, their IT team downsized. This meant that they needed a third-party provider to handle everything for them.
BlueSky UC Teams Voice Solution
This project consisted of moving Accurus’ phone system into Teams by creating 8 new phone numbers and 1 conference room line in four different locations.
For this specific project, we started by setting up a Proof-of-Concept (POC) for them to test the user experience, capabilities, and call quality. A full deployment is required for this pilot, which means that when you are ready to onboard the remaining users, it’s as simple as requesting new phone numbers and enabling the users for voice. This is the best approach and guarantees a quick and easy deployment.
Accurus’ also had a Public Announcement system set up with over-the-head speakers at their different locations. This configuration was also adapted via a device that connects the PA system to the new telephony system for a smooth and working transition to the Teams telephone lines.
