North Texas Behavioral Health Authority (NTBHA) is a collaborative system of care for individuals experiencing mental health illness and/or a substance used disorder.

Like many other organizations, NTBHA was in need of a trust-worthy highly available voice service, since it’s highly important for them to maintain their service uptime even through a cloud or internet outage. For a mental health organization, like NTBHA it’s extremely important to have high quality voice services not only for them to be able to reconnect instantly with their patients, but also because of the legal regulations these organizations must follow.

How BlueSky UC supports highly available voice services through Teams


On 2016 NTBHA reached BlueSky UC in order to migrate their phone system. At the beginning of this project 16 phone numbers and 2 conference rooms were ported into Skype for Business Online. After Microsoft announced the retirement of Skype for Business Online services in 2021, we assisted them through the transition to Microsoft Teams, the new collaboration and communication hub for many organizations. After 5 years, NTBHA holds more than 150 main phone lines in Microsoft Teams.

Now through Teams and BlueSky UC’s managed services, North Texas Behavioral Health Authority can stay available to customers, maintain its workforce productivity, and stay up to date on the industry’s legal regulations all mental health organizations must follow.
