Where is Microsoft 365 Business Voice with Calling Plans available?
Microsoft 365 Business Voice was launched November 2019 and has been available in the United States since April 1st, 2020. This platform was made for small and medium organizations, to help them make the most out of Microsoft Teams, as a powerful and flexible telephone system.
Business Voice is meant to be a simpler, cost-efficient, easy to manage replacement for the traditional in-house telephone services. However, some of its features are only available in certain areas, specifically: Calling Plans.
If Calling Plans are not available in your country or region, it doesn’t mean you can’t enjoy the Business Voice services. Nevertheless, it does determine whether you can set it all up yourself, or if you need the help of a Microsoft Partner or reseller.
Countries and regions without support for Calling Plans
If calling plans are not available in your area, you can purchase Business Voice through a Microsoft Partner or reseller. We will work alongside a third-party company telephony provider, setting up Direct Routing between Microsoft 365 and the existing on-premises telephony hardware.
Once this process is completed, you still need to keep a few on-prem telephone equipment, to enable your on-premises telephony devices to communicate with Microsoft 365.
It’s important to note that your local, long-distance, and toll-free charges will remain billed by your third-party telephony provider. Your telephone provider will continue to coordinate your phone numbers management, either adding or removing numbers.
Countries and regions with support for Calling Plans
If Calling Plans are available in your area, you can buy Business Voice directly from Microsoft and set it up or transfer your existing numbers to Microsoft 365.
Once this process is done, you won’t have the need to contact a third-party telephony provider in order to manage your numbers.
Microsoft 365 will become your telephony provider, including domestic, local and long-distance calls in Business Voice. Your toll-free and international long-distance charges will be directly billed by Microsoft.
